Training workshop «Prevention of BMI and obesity»

The seminar-training «Prevention of BMI and obesity» was conducted by professors of Biology Department of Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography Kunakbayev A.S., Babashev A.M., docent Tatarinova G.Sh., senior teachers Tashenova G.K., Otarova N.I. and teacher Zharylkasynova J.M. on November 3, 2022 in order to form healthy life style among students. The event was held online and was attended by 1st year students of INSF, IPP and IHL.

Obesity is one of the most important problems of public health in Kazakhstan. Over 5 million people in the country are overweight. Particularly alarming is the growing prevalence of obesity among children and adolescents. Childhood obesity subsequently becomes an important prognostic factor for the emergence of various diseases in adults. The organisers gave comprehensive information on BMI prevention, measures to prevent the development of obesity.
