Exhibition «Insects around us» dedicated to Animals` Protection Day

On 3rd October 2019, an exhibition «Insects around Us» dedicated to Animals` Protection Day took place at the Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography. The organisers were teachers of zoology of biology department: head of department, associated professor M. B. Zhaxybaev, candidates of science, docents K.I. Batyrova, and B. K. Esimov, senior lecturers D. U.Seksenova, A.Maymataeva, R. U.Saimova, teachers: E. Qauynbaeva, M.A. Bashenova, A.S. Imanghazy.

The event was attended by more than 80 2nd year students of specialty «5B011300-Biology», «5B060700-Biology», Kazakh, Russian and English groups, as well as students of gymnasium schools №159 and №12.At the exhibition , 2nd year students of specialty «5B011300-Biology» and specialty «5B060700-Biology» presented their own collections of insects.

The exhibition was held in the following categories:
- The best collection of insects;
- The model of the wonderful world of insects;
- Album on insect diversity.

Students took an active part in the exhibition. The jury consisted of chief specialist Of the Institute of Zoology of MES RK Almaty Esenbekova Perizat Abdykairovna, specialist of Almaty zoo Rakhimova Akzhamal, associate Professor of biology at KazNWTTU Aitzhanova Mira Onlanbekovna, biology teacher of school № 159 Ospanbek Tolkyn.

In conclusion, there was marked student work group 2.1 the English branch of the specialty «5B011300-Biology», the work of students of the 1st group of the Kazakh branch of the specialty «5B060700-Biology» in the nomination «The model about the wonderful world of insects», works of students of the Russian branch of the specialty «5B011300-Biology» in the nomination «Album of insect diversity».

The second place was taken by students of the 2nd group of the Kazakh branch of the specialty «5B011300-Biology» and group 1.2 of the English branch of the specialty «5B011300-Biology». The third place was taken by the 1st and 3rd groups of the Kazakh branch of the specialty «5B011300-Biology» groups 1.1 and 2.2 of the English branch of the specialty «5B011300-Biology» and the 2nd group of the Kazakh branch of the specialty «5B060700-Biology».

At the end of the exhibition, the winners were awarded special gifts.

The purpose of this event is to educate students a sense of love for nature, a sense of compassion for animals and care for them.

We hope that during the creation of exhibits students studied thoroughly the characteristics of insects, and most importantly in the future will be able to use this knowledge in their professional activities
