On May 23, 2022, in Abai KazNPU a conference «Global problems of the political process», dedicated to the clarification of constitutional reforms took place. The event was attended by members of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurtore Zhusip, Dinar Nuketaeva, Rector Darkhan Bilyalov, representatives of Amanat Party, faculty members and chairmen of youth affairs departments / student government bodies, active students.
The aim was to get acquainted with the project on making amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, formation of civil position on participation in the forthcoming referendum.
Darkhan Bilyalov, noting that we are entering a new stage of development of our statehood, stressed that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made a very important step for the future of the country, saying that political reforms are needed and that everyone is equal before the Constitution. «The interests of all citizens of Kazakhstan must be taken into account in the Basic Law. The referendum is the first concrete and brave step towards the creation of a New Kazakhstan. I invite everyone to make their choice», the rector said.
During the meeting the speakers talked in detail about the changes and additions to the Constitution of the RK, noted that the amendments proposed to the current Constitution of the country are aimed at strengthening democracy and the rule of law. It was noted that the referendum is a concrete step to building a new Kazakhstan, and the main mechanism of the political reforms is the support of the people for the constitutional changes proposed by the President, and every Kazakhstani citizen shall contribute to the development of the country.
Nurtore Zhusip stressed that it will give a significant impetus to the socio-political life of the new Kazakhstan, because the changes take into account the foundations of the state, which listens to the voice of the people and takes into account their views. According to the deputy, the values of the Constitution are justice, order, unity and improvement of the citizens` welfare.
Dinar Nuketaeva noted that the reforms meet the needs of the country`s population and the challenges of the time. She talked of changes in education and science, measures taken by the state to raise the status of teachers, emphasized the need to staff rural schools by developing opportunities to support young teachers and help novice scientists for the development of national science.
