A graduate of Abai KazNPU, who works at a foreign university, lectures at his alma mater

From November 27 to December 24, 2023, a visiting professor, PhD, associate professor of the Institute of Philology of Pomeranian University in Slupsk (Poland), a young scientist, literary critic Maxim Ponomarenko works at the Department of Russian Language and Literature of the Abai KazNPU Institute of Philology. He is a graduate of the bachelor`s and Master`s degree of the Department of Russian Language and Literature, and after defending his doctoral dissertation at a Polish university, he works abroad on a permanent basis.

The visiting professor`s work program includes lectures, consultations for undergraduates and doctoral students.

Maxim Ponomarenko is the coordinator of Abai Center of Kazakh Culture and Science established in Poland on May 23, 2019 as a result of many years of effective cooperation between Abai KazNPU and Pomeranian University in Slupsk. The Polish university hosts the annual international conference "Abai Readings" dedicated to the study of the history, culture and literature of Kazakhstan, including in Polish scientific circles.
