Teachers of Abai University have completed an internship at Herzen State Pedagogical University

In the framework of the scientific project of MSHE RK "Integrative approach in fairy tale therapy as an innovative technology to preserve the psychological health of the younger generation in the conditions of digitalisation of education" together with the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU was organised a scientific internship in Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University (Russian Federation, St. Petersburg). Under the guidance of the director of the Institute of Childhood of this University and the author of many children`s books M.S. Kostyukhina developed a programme for the study of modern literature on fairy tale therapy, research methods in solving problems on the preservation of psychological health of the younger generation.

Under the guidance of M.S. Kostyukhina, a book and illustrative exhibition with editions of A.S. Pushkin`s fairy tales was organised for the project participants at the Pushkin Central Children`s Library. Pushkin`s fairy tales of the 19th century, a rare collection of miniature children`s books, modern translated children`s literature of the IBBY honour list, advanced technologies of fairy tale therapy in work with children (interactive book reading, a game of searching for St. Petersburg sights, thematic crafts based on the book, composing their own stories, drawing in the style of IBBY laureate illustrators). The library staff offered to organise master classes (offline/online), lectures for specialists and general audience on various topics (including the activities of the International Children`s Book Council, review of modern foreign children`s literature based on the IBBY Honour List collection, etc.).

The experience of Russian scientists of Herzen State Pedagogical University will be useful in the process of research work and in practical activities in the field of fairy tale therapy, which will undoubtedly contribute to improving the process of scientific pedagogical research, create an incentive for further fruitful work. We believe that international cooperation of young scientists of Kazakhstan interested in the exchange of views between Kazakhstani and foreign scientists in the field of fairy tale therapy, international connection between science and practice represented by Russian scientists of the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University is a significant step in the development of social and humanitarian sciences, in particular, psychological science in our country.
