Speaking club for foreign students “Russian Club”
Volunteer initiative of the Department of Russian Language and Literature - "Russian Club" for foreign students of Abai University.
On 16.09.2024 at the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai University a speaking club for foreign students "Russian Club" began its work. The aim of the club is to create a space for free communication, where students can improve their language skills through active discussions and interactive tasks.
At the moment the participants of the club are students from China, who arrived under the academic mobility programme, and citizens of Turkmenistan, second-year students studying the Russian language and literature. This diversity of nationalities and language proficiency levels contributes to the creation of interesting discussions and exchange of experience.
Classes in the club are led by volunteers represented by young teachers of the department and doctoral students, who offer participants practical tasks to deepen their knowledge of the Russian language. Students discuss current topics, complete grammar, vocabulary and stylistics assignments, which helps them to improve their skills and to immerse themselves in the cultural environment.
The speaking club is not only a place to learn, but also an opportunity for students to broaden their horizons, build friendships and better adapt to study and life in Kazakhstan.
