Researchers and students of Abai University completed an internship in Germany within the DAAD international project

From November 9 to 15, members of the DAAD international project "The Network on International Education in South Caucasus and Central Asia at the Intersection of Educational Spaces (NIE-SCCA-EdSp)" completed a research internship at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany.

Participants from Abai University included Dr. Ulzharkyn Abdigapbarova (Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor), Dr. Kamarsulu Ibraeva (Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor), Dr. Madina Moldagali (PhD), as well as students Shugyla Zhumabay and Akzhol Musilim.

The internship program was intensive and focused on various sectors of internationalization of education: school education, higher education, non-formal education (youth centers), as well as the role of diasporas as an important component of international educational processes.

As part of the program, the DAAD project team visited Montessori School Erlangen (Erasmus School), where they learned about the organization of the educational process and practices of international cooperation.

Participants also took part in a colloquium and a round table led by Prof. Dr. Anatoli Rakhkochkine on the topic "Mapping International Education in South Caucasus and Central Asia." During the colloquium, the project team prepared and discussed a comparative overview of the participating countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Germany, in the context of educational internationalization strategies and practices.

A notable event of the internship was the lecture delivered by Kazakhstani scholar Dr. Tunike Talifu, currently completing his postdoctoral fellowship at Dortmund University. His presentation, "Transnational Influences and Internationalization in Kazakhstan`s School Sector," explored current trends in the internationalization of school education in Kazakhstan.

The internship is an important stage in the implementation of the research project, aimed at strengthening international cooperation and enhancing the research competencies of its participants.
