Research Trip: “Abai 180: Digital Renaissance”

As part of an international academic mission, S.D. Abisheva, M.M. Khavaidarova, and D.A. Sabirova presented the results of their work within the project "Abai 180: Digital Renaissance", dedicated to modern approaches to promoting Abai`s legacy through digital technologies.

During the visit, the research team delivered three keynote lectures for undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Turin.

D.A. Sabirova presented the lecture "The Image of Kazakhstan in World Culture" highlighting the mechanisms through which Kazakhstan`s cultural code is transmitted within global academic, artistic, and media contexts, and emphasizing the significance of national identity representation.

M.M. Khavaidarova delivered the talk "A Bridge Between West and East: The Poetics of Humanism in the Works of Petrarch and Abai." Her research revealed the spiritual affinity of the two cultures and demonstrated the universality of humanistic ideas shared by thinkers across different eras.

S.D. Abisheva spoke on "Abai 180: Digital Renaissance," focusing on innovative digital formats for popularizing Abai`s works from interactive platforms and multimedia projects to new directions in digital humanities and modern tools used in Abai studies.

The research trip became an important milestone in strengthening international academic dialogue, advancing digital humanities projects, and expanding the scholarly exploration of Abai`s legacy.
