Police Major: There should be no indifference in the fight against drug addiction

Drug trafficking and drug-related crimes are a serious problem that is not only on the agenda in the country, but also around the world. Therefore, the fight against it, preventive measures are carried out without interruption for twelve months of the year.

In order to implement a Comprehensive plan among students for 2023-2025, the staff of the Department for Combating Drug Crime of Almaty city DP on an ongoing basis carry out preventive measures aimed at forming a stable anti-drug consciousness among adolescents and young people.

In this regard, at the meeting held on November 6, 2023, was attended by the senior operative of the Department for Combating Drug Crime of the Almaty Police Department, Police Major Kobeev Dauren, who conducted explanatory work.

The senior operative of the Police Department together with the students discussed measures to combat drug addiction, punishment for the sale and distribution of narcotic drugs, data and statistics on drug addiction.

During the meeting, the participants watched anti-drug videos sent by the Department for Combating Drug Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the operative, every year new types of aggressive drugs appear on the black market.

«Addiction is mainly prone to teenagers and young people who, instead of studying, career and family, spend their lives looking for psychoactive substances and struggling with the consequences. There should be no indifference in the fight against drug addiction, because this is a problem that worries the whole society, and we must fight it together», Dauren Kobeev said.

The police major also focused on the measures carried out by the Department for Countering Drug Trafficking and shared the results of the work done. In addition, he noted the importance of the harmful effects of drug use on young people, including «synthetic drugs».

The meeting participants discussed issues of cooperation in coordinating activities aimed at preventing drug addiction and drug crime, as well as drug addiction and drug trafficking among young people. The specialist stressed the need to strengthen the understanding of «Health is an important value for a person» in the minds of young people and to form a sustainable attitude to leading a healthy lifestyle.
