Prevention and Prevention of sexually transmitted diseases HIV infection

On February 23, 2024, doctors of the Department of Education, Social Work and Youth Policy and the health center together with the Kazakh scientific center of Dermatology and Infectious Diseases organized a lecture for students on the topic "Prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV infection".

The speakers of the event were the head of the KDIAGO hospital A. Taubayeva and epidemiologist A. Raushanbek.

During the lecture, the speakers noted that the Prevention of HIV infection belongs to the most effective methods of combating a dangerous disease, and untreated sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) increase the risk of HIV infection by 5-10 times.

It turns out that about half of all HIV and other STI infections worldwide are caused by young people aged 10-25. In this regard, it is very important to teach young people responsible and safe sexual behavior. Also, scientists around the world are doing everything possible to find an effective cure for HIV in the near future.

Preventive work on HIV and STDs is carried out to prevent the spread of infections to large groups of the population. The use of condoms in every sexual intercourse - reduces the likelihood of spreading infections, but it is worth remembering that it does not 100% protect the human body from infections.

If there is a risk of contracting an STD, you should definitely see a doctor. This is because prevention, early diagnosis and treatment with medications prescribed by doctors protect against serious consequences.

During the lecture, students got acquainted with information about the ways of spreading the disease and how to safely prevent HIV infection, STDs.
