Of these, 71.12% (5,561,937 people) supported the construction of a nuclear power plant. The participants noted that they did not stay away from this important event for the country, made their choice and exercised their constitutional right. In addition, the active participation of students in the voting was emphasized.
«Energy is an important part of social development, including digital development. We must develop the energy industry in order not to lose our position in geopolitics. Over the past two years, our people have been demonstrating their political literacy, and we see the results of the referendum. In general, this referendum was a vivid reflection of the position of the state, which listens to the voice of the people through our president. Our people also voted for a strategy that will contribute to our development in the future. Foreign experts also gave high marks, which indicates that the country has grown and is developing democratically», - Zhomart Simtikov said.
According to Aynur Sailhan, nuclear power plants equipped with modern technologies are currently competitive and safe. «Losses from coal have a very negative impact on human health. Nuclear power plants are the safest and most environmentally friendly, as world practice shows. That is why most of the developed countries of the world have already started using nuclear power plants for heating and other needs», - said ecologist, PhD Aynur Sailhan.
The participants of the event also exchanged views on the main advantages of a nuclear power plant, its economic efficiency and sustainability of energy supply, as well as discussed issues of environmental cleanliness and safety.
