Scientific and methodological webinar of a Moscow translator


As part of the Decade of Science, on April 6, 2022, a scientific and methodological webinar «Methods of teaching translation (level B2-B1)» was held at the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation of the Institute of Philology and multilingual education of Abai KazNPU, the speaker of which was Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation translator Yulia Eduardovna Znak.


Such theoretical and methodological problems as linguistic and psychological factors influencing the formation of translation competence were highlighted. Yu.E. Znak paid special attention to the formation of students-translators` knowledge of systemic differences between foreign and native languages, the importance of teaching pre-translational analysis, focus on accuracy in translation, achieved by maintaining precision information; revealing the psychological components of the translation process.


The scientific and methodological webinar was attended by teachers of translation, doctoral students, undergraduates, students of the translation department. Many questions were asked to the Moscow scholar, a teacher of translation at one of the most famous universities in the world.
The organizer and moderator of the webinar was Doctor of Philology, Professor A.K. Zhumabekova.
