Ethno-festival dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Kazakhstan

On May 3, 2023 at 11:00 am, the Ethnofestival was held as part of the celebration of the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, organized by the Institute of Philology of Abai University. The faculty and students of the Department of Eastern Philology and Translation took an active part in this event. Students and teachers in national costumes of 7 states in 7 languages organized an exhibition to get acquainted with the culture of the country, national cuisine. From the Uyghur ethno-cultural center in Almaty, Masim Nasima performed the Uyghur dance, and Tokhtar Mahabbat performed the song Rise up. The 2nd year students of the specialty "Eastern language teacher with knowledge of English" and the 3rd year student of foreign philology: Chinese Aidana Sabitovna Sultanmuratova with the song 我的歌声里 presented Chinese culture, and the song "Omirim" sounded in beautiful Arabic motives. The dance group "Chanel" performed on behalf of the French people, and the students of the Korean department danced the national dance of the Korean people. The jury thanked the staff of the department for their special participation and awarded a prize of 30,000 tenge on behalf of the rector of the university.
