International Korean Proficiency Test
The Korean language proficiency test - TOPIK I (Levels 1-2) and TOPIK II (Levels 3-6) takes place 3-4 times a year around the world. In Kazakhstan, this exam has been held 3 times a year since 2022. The 87th TOPIK was held on April 9 at the Education Center at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Due to limited places, the first 800 applications are accepted as a maximum (400 applications for TOPIK-1 and 400 applications for TOPIK-2). Not only citizens of Kazakhstan want to test their knowledge, but also from neighboring countries (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan). Therefore, competition even at the application stage is very high. A total of 329 applications were accepted for the 1st TOPIK and 418 applications for the second.
2nd year students of the specialty "Teacher of Oriental (Korean) Language with Knowledge of English" for the first time challenged themselves to pass the test. To do this, for several months an additional class "In preparation for TOPIK" was opened, which was led by a volunteer teacher Bae Munky. 10 students signed up for the TOPIK classes. And finally, on May 28, the results were announced on the official website. Both the teachers and the students themselves were anxiously waiting for them. All of our students have successfully passed the TOPIK-I test of Korean language proficiency, and received level 1 and 2 certificates!
Note: TOPIK certificate is required to enter Korea for study, work, immigration. To enter universities or take language courses and other study programs, the minimum level must be at least level 3-4.
