Festive evening dedicated to the Chinese New Year

On February 23, 2024 in Abai KazNPU held a festive evening dedicated to the Chinese New Year with the participation of members of the student club "Chinese place". Organisers - teachers of Chinese language A.N.Raeva, S.Meirkhan and students of Chinese language department.

The guests of the evening were: Head of the Department of International Programmes and Cooperation Zh.Murat, Deputy Director for Scientific Work A.A.Naimanbaev, Deputy Director for Academic Work in Foreign Languages A.M.Saurikova, Head of the Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation N.N Konkabaeva, teachers of the Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation A.M.Almabekova and S.Toktarbek.

The purpose of this event is to familiarise Chinese language students with the culture of the PRC.

On this occasion, along with songs and dances of the heavenly country, Kazakh songs and chants were performed, the concept of Chinese New Year was demonstrated, and the activists of the student club "Chinese place", students of the 3rd year of speciality "6B01709 - Teacher of Oriental language with knowledge of English", who studied under the programme of academic mobility in Shaoxin city of the PRC, made a presentation and told about the training. In addition, various quiz questions for Chinese New Year were asked, and the students who answered correctly were awarded prizes.

Head of the Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation N.N.Konkabaeva, congratulated the students and teachers and thanked the students who took part in the event.

It is planned to organise annual events of this format aimed at in-depth study of Chinese language among university students.
