Scientific mission on the grant project "Ethno-cultural and linguistic paradigm in the language of monuments of the Middle Ages"
PhD, senior lecturer of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation, the head of the project N.N.Konkabaeva and scientific adviser of the project, candidate of philological sciences, Professor of the University K.Kh. Abdrakhmanova from 24.02 to 05.03.2024 were on a scientific business trip to Cairo (Egypt) on the project of grant funding "Ethno-cultural and linguistic paradigm in the language of the monuments of the Middle Ages". The purpose of the scientific trip was to collect materials from the library collections of Cairo related to the topic of the project, to identify, summarise and conduct scientific research of materials related to the topic of the study in the collections of the Centre of Manuscripts and Rare Books.
Several types of works were done during the research trip:
- Scientific research was carried out in the collections of rare books and manuscripts of institutes and libraries " معهد الم موووات العربية (institute of Arabic manuscripts)", " وار الكتب والم اووواات (library and archive centre)", acquaintance with the original medieval manuscript "al-Lughat Al-Jauhari", obtained a facsimile of the monument, electronic collection of translated versions;
- Scientific works, individual articles, books, periodicals related to the manuscripts of the Mamluk period were identified, bibliographic lists were compiled and copies were obtained.
The project has developed a research partnership with several qualified specialists at the National Archives dealing with the manuscript collection, historians of the Mamluk period.
