Master class on the topic "Problems of translation in the field of literary translation"     

On April 5, 2024, within the framework of the Decade of Science - 2024, a master class was held on the topic "Problems of translation in the field of literary translation" with SDU associate professor, translator B. Salykova, organized by N.R. Shengelbayeva, senior lecturer of the Department of Eastern Philology and Translation of the Institute of Philology of KazNPU named after Abai. The seminar was attended by the head of the department N.N.Konkabayeva, teachers G.Satbay, A.Mukhitov, as well as students of specialty 6B02302 - Translation Studies. 

During the meeting, translator B. Salykova focused on the main issues of direct translation from English into Kazakh, as well as methods of preserving national flavor during translation. She spoke about the translation ability to give phraseological units in two unrelated languages. Students` questions were answered. An experienced translator introduced them to published literary books.

At the end of the lesson, the head of the Department of Eastern Philology and Translation, N.N. Konkabayeva, expressed gratitude to the translator B. Salykova and awarded her a Letter of Gratitude on behalf of the University.
