The lessons of the Turkish professor

At the invitation of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education and Professor Gulbanu Kasimova, distinguished guest from Turkey arrived at the Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation - Professor of the Ege University (Izmir) and President of the Turkish Linguistic Society (Ankara) Gürer Gyulsevin. The invited scientist, as a native speaker, conducted lessons and seminars on the current state of the Turkish language, on the culture and life of Turkish society. They were given comprehensive answers to numerous students` questions regarding the Mevlana and Erasmus academic mobility programs. The lessons were conducted in Turkish without translators, and this attracted the close attention of both students and the professor himself.

The first course students of the specialty «Oriental Studies» and the students of the second and third courses of the specialty «Two Foreign Languages» participated in lectures and seminars. At the last classes, poems of Kazakh and Turkish poets in both languages were read. Professor Gürer Gulsevin was pleased with the knowledge and erudition of our students and thanked the leadership of the institute and the head of the chair Ergali Yesbosynov for the invitation.
