International Round Table "Autism: from theoretical understanding to practical overcoming"

On April 5, 2023, at the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abai KazNPU, the Department of "Special Pedagogy" held an international round table on "Autism: from theoretical understanding to practical overcoming" as part of the Decade of Science 2023.The main goal of the Republican round table was to discuss the problems of autism in the modern educational space, to exchange experience in working with children with ASD in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The organizers of the round table were the director of the Institute of "Pedagogy and Psychology", Abai KazNPU Abaeva G.A. and head of the department "Special Pedagogy" Autaeva A.N.

During the round table, the participants discussed the following topical issues: how to approach psychological and pedagogical support for children with autism spectrum disorders, training specialists in the framework of the project "Creating a support system for children with ASD", providing assistance to children with autism in the education system in the Republic of Kazakhstan, from experience in the development of everyday vocabulary in children 6-8 years old with ASD.

The debate was attended by: Representatives of pedagogical universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KazNWTTU, Pavlodar Pedagogical University, teachers, bachelors, undergraduates and doctoral students; heads of the ABA Center "Rostok", head of the department of rehabilitation and implementation of new technologies of the RSU "National Scientific and Practical Center for the Development of Special and Inclusive Education "(NSPC DSIE), Director of the Private Foundation "Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities "Meyirim", President of the Public Fund "Ashyk Alem", leaders and specialists of the "Center (autism-center) for supporting children with autism (autism spectrum disorder) EKR, as well as the coordinator of the project "Creating a support system for children with ASD".

As a result of the round table, recommendations were adopted.
