The purpose of the Department of International Relations is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of international relations, foreign policy and institutions that carry out foreign activities in the international arena.

History of the faculty international relations The specialty "International relations" in Abai KazNPU was opened in 1993. Over the years of its functioning has trained more than 3000 highly qualified specialists, many of whom work in the presidential administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, the regional and city administrations, are members of Parliament, working in the system of foreign Affairs, ambassadors, consuls and other officials of foreign embassies of the Republic, occupy prestigious positions in international companies and organizations.
For the training of specialists, there is a good material and technical base: language and multimedia classrooms, computer classes, satellite television and the Internet, distance learning is used, all conditions are created for obtaining the most modern knowledge. In 2014, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. V. Nazarbayev and the President of the French Republic F. Hollande opened the second branch of the USPS in the world and the only Sorbonne Institute in Asia - Kazakhstan. Graduates of the Sorbonne –Kazakhstan Institute receive diplomas of the Sorbonne University Paris Cite and a state diploma of the Abai KazNPU.
Within the framework of the Bachelor`s degree program, several modules are taught in French by French teachers.
Within the framework of the master`s program, 70% of academic disciplines are taught by leading USPS professors. The main language of instruction is French. Graduates of the master`s program receive fundamental knowledge on an interdisciplinary basis that guarantees them professional mobility.
