The Center of Teaching Excellence is a structural unit within the department of educational programs development of the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

 

The main objective:

Creation of a new trend for improvement of the instructors` teaching skills in the Republic of Kazakhstan, that reflect the current global trends in education.

 

The tasks set by the strategic development plan of the University:

1. Creation of the Abai Learning & Development Certification Center by organizing and conducting advanced training courses for instructors, university faculty, faculty members of pedagogical universities of Kazakhstan, managers and teaching staff of organizations of secondary and preschool education;
2. Creation of digital educational content, online and digital pedagogy - for college faculty members;
3. Creation of certification courses of additional education in pedagogical retraining (4 and 5 levels of the industry qualifications framework) - for individuals with technical and professional post-secondary education;
4. Conducting Winter and Summer schools for the university faculty members;
5. Organization and support of accelerated educational programs using distance learning technologies:
5.1 PGCE is a training program for individuals with higher education or postgraduate non-pedagogical education to work in primary school and in secondary school as subject teacher ("side entrance" to the teaching profession);

5.2 Master`s of Education Entrepreneurship is a training program for specialists with a focus on the development of entrepreneurial thinking among students (capstone - advanced business plan);

5.3. Master`s of Education Administration (MEA) is a specialized executive master`s degree for training current and future heads of kindergartens, schools, colleges and universities.
