The Office for the Commercialization of the Results of Scientific and Technical Activities develops measures to stimulate the commercial orientation of the university`s scientific research.
It provides consulting services for preparing commercialization projects for participation in various competitions and for launching startup companies.
It collects information and forms a registry of promising innovative projects, technologies, and developments.
It carries out analysis of the registry of promising innovative projects, technologies, and developments to conduct preliminary market research and to develop strategies/solutions for further commercialization.
It searches for partners (entrepreneurs and investors) interested in the commercialization of promising innovative projects and technologies.
It is responsible for organizing the evaluation of effective innovative projects of Abai KazNPU and external organizations for the purpose of selecting and investing in projects with commercial potential.
It conducts online webinars for faculty members, doctoral students, master`s students, and students on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. In September 2025, a series of webinars was held on the topic "How to create a profitable startup?".
The Office for Commercialization, together with the business partner Keruen Plus LLP, based on a tripartite agreement with the Science Fund, implements the project "Innovative Production of Glossy Eco-Friendly Window Sills from Composite Materials Based on PVC by the Co-Extrusion Method Using YBCO Modifiers" (DP21682051). The amount of the grant allocated by the Science Fund is 350,000,000 KZT. The product created within the framework of the project is being successfully introduced into production by the business partner - Keruen Plus LLP. As of the end of 2024, the volume of product sales produced within the project amounted to 35,560,000 KZT.
Since 2024, the Office for Commercialization has annually conducted the "Zhas Kasipker Abai University" competition with the aim of turning the business ideas of faculty members and students into profitable startups. From 2024 to November 2025, three competitions were held. At present, work is underway on the commercialization of 15 projects. An effective mechanism is being developed for introducing the products created within the startup projects into production.
