Seminar by the Rector of Abai University

On April 5, 2023, within the Decade of Science 2023, the seminar "Useful and free tools for study and research" was held by Mr. Darkhan Bilyalov, Chairman of the Board-Rector of Abai KazNPU. The event was attended by Abai University management and faculty, doctoral and master students and young lecturers.

In his speech, Darkhan Bilalov noted the importance of using digital tools in higher education institutions in all sectors and working with quantitative and qualitative data, and made an analysis of modern technologies for organizing the digital educational space.

The workshop covered several areas, including working with quantitative data in Google forms, Excel Data Analysis Toolpak, PSPP; with textual data transcription using Google Docs, QDA Miner Lite applications.

As D.Bilyalov stressed, digitalization is today`s demand, and the development of digital education infrastructure will undoubtedly require teachers to be able to analyze existing digital education platforms on the market. At the same time, it is very important to be able to analyse data using digital platforms and conduct qualitative and quantitative research in pedagogical work.

The seminar was very informative, the head of the university and the participants of the event exchanged their views on the topic raised, noting that new tools for study and research, especially free of charge, play a great role in the development of both universities and education in the country as a whole.
