Webinar "Geographic analysis of the Sustainable Development Goals"
The Decade of Science 2023, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Abai KazNPU, is very active. Every member of staff is keen to contribute to the set of activities. So, on April 6, 2023 post doctoral student of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography, N. Shakirova held a webinar "Geographic analysis of the Sustainable Development Goals" for young researchers, doctoral students, undergraduates and students. The topic was discussed within the framework of one of the tasks set by the research project "Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals in Geography Teacher Training and Retraining", implemented by the order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The webinar aimed at public outreach on the Sustainable Development Goals. The speaker touched upon questions: when and on the basis of what documents the SDGs appeared, what their differences from the Millennium Development Goals are, the tasks which Kazakhstan undertook to implement the SDGs, problematic issues and national specificities of each goal achieved in the country were pointed out. It was stressed that the goals and objectives were achieved at their level.
