«Abai University» newspaper is the paper publication of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. The first issue of the newspaper was published in August 2002. Since then, all 218 issues have been addressed to the reader. The newspaper is published once a month in Kazakh and Russian.

Its first editors were Zhasaral Kuanyshalin and Dos Kushim, both university professors. The current editor is Bolat Sharakhimbay.

The aim of the newspaper is to inform the public about the life of the university, in particular, to create a positive image of the university by providing information on various activities of the university in the field of education, science, education, sports, creativity.

Main objectives:
- Forming a positive image of the University and raising its social status in the society;
- To organize and prepare materials on the most important events in the activities of the University;
- Informing the readers of important events in a timely manner;
- Ensuring interaction and communication with the target audience - applicants, students, parents, employees, teaching staff and other members of the public;
- Establish contacts with institutes, departments and other agencies and increase the speed of information exchange;
- To introduce readers to the works of students and teachers (poetry, prose, stories, essays, articles, etc.).
