In Poland, the V Abay Readings took place

 

At the Center of Kazakh Culture and Science named after Abai the V anniversary International Scientific seminar "Abai Readings V: History and prospects of culture of Kazakhstan in the Eurasian space" was held at the Department of Neophilology, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the founding of Abai KazNPU in Almaty and the 100th anniversary of the birth of teacher, scientist and translator Alexander Zhovtis.

 

The seminar was organized under the honorary patronage of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Poland and in cooperation with Abai KazNPU. The seminar was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps of Kazakhstan: Ms. Ulzhan Galinova, Secretary of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Polish Republic, as well as Ms. Zhanna Nasyrova, Director of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Gdansk. Representatives of Abai KazNPU were also present: Doctor of Philology, Professor Bakhytgul Sakenovna Zhumagulova, candidate of philology sciences, acting associate Professor Akerke Bayanovna Irgebayeva, Master, senior lecturer Bibizhan Parkulovna Abuova and students. The seminar was also attended by Ms. Tatiana Skali, Dean for Cooperation with Universities of the East, representing the Kazakh Cultural Center "Kazak Eli" at the Higher School of Economics in Bydgoszcz. The Pomeranian Academy was represented by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Hab. Danuta Gierczyńska, AP Professor, Mr. Vice Rector for Science Dr. Dariusz Ficek, AP Professor and Director of the Institute of Philology Dr. hab. Kristina Kravets-Zlotkovskaya. The moderator of the meeting was the coordinator of the center, Dr. Maxim Ponomarenko.

 

Students and teachers from Almaty, Kyzylorda, Aktobe, Semey and Astana (Kazakhstan), as well as from Poznan, Olsztyn, Bydgoszcz, Szczecin, Lodz and Warsaw presented their scientific reports.

 

The speeches touched upon the topic of the Polish Museum of Abai Kunanbayuly in Semey, the presence of Kazakh literature in Poland and studies of the work of Kazakh poets and writers, issues of their translation into Polish. There were also speeches addressing issues of cultural identity of Kazakhs.

 

In the break between the discussions, the guests and participants of the seminar had the opportunity to taste Kazakh cuisine and listen to the dombra played by Ulzhan Kaldybek, who is studying under a two-degree program.
