Visit to the University of Zagreb

On June 14-16, 2023 scientific team of Abai University headed by the Chairman of the Board - Rector Darhan Biljalov within the framework of program-target research BR18574162 "Inclusive Special Education Training" visited Zagreb University (Croatia).

The University of Zagreb is one of the largest universities, currently enrolling over 68,000 students. Its activity in the field of education dates back to 1669. During its 350 year history the University of Zagreb has become a deserving institution of higher education with an impeccable reputation. It has been recognized as one of the oldest and best educational institutions in Eastern Europe, and the quality of its services is exemplary. The university is regularly included in world rankings.

The parties signed a memorandum on bilateral cooperation, discussed the issues of interaction and opportunities for the implementation of double degree projects in training special educators, academic mobility of students and faculty, joint research, preparation of dissertations of doctoral students. Representatives of Abai KazNPU during a visit acquainted with the professional standard of a special teacher, with the structure and content of educational programs to prepare special educators in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. The Croatian colleagues also had the opportunity to visit the Clinical and Teaching unit at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation, the centre for accompanying students with disabilities and the Perkins School, which is famous in Europe.
