Abai Day

On August 10, 2023, we marked 178 years anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayov. This day, which became Abai Day, is filled with deep respect and reverence for his legacy. In honour of the great writer and thinker, the Department of Educational and Social Work together with youth policy organised a solemn event.

Staff and teachers of Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay gathered at the monument to the great poet to lay flowers.

On this significant day, the event was attended by high-ranking guests, including the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akerke Abylaikhan. Vice-Rector for Social Development Shyngys Nurlanov, representatives of the university administration and the Veterans Council also joined the ceremony.

Abai Day is not only a holiday of remembrance, but also an opportunity to be inspired by the work of the great poet, to be enriched by his wisdom and gift of words. The staff of Abai KazNPU proudly bears his name and respectfully admires his legacy. On this day and in the future we strive to preserve and multiply his spiritual wealth, making his work accessible and meaningful for all generations.
