Rector of Abai KazNPU  appointed Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On August 2, 2023, Rector of Abai KazNPU Darhan Bilyalov held a meeting with the staff of the university in connection with the transition to a new position. During the event the Minister of Science and Higher Education of RK Sayasat Nurbek joined online and expressed his gratitude to Darkhan Bilyalov for his significant contribution to the development of the first higher education institution of the country. He also announced the appointment of D.N.Bilyalov to the position of Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan. The Minister noted the great foreign experience and high potential of the young talented manager, which will be valuable for the further development of national science.

During the meeting Darhan Bilyalov presented a report for the period of his work in Abai KazNPU (2021-2023), covering all areas of activity of the leading higher education institution of the country. Achievements in the development and modernisation of the university, successes in academic, scientific, international, financial, as well as social and educational activities of the university were highlighted in detail. All this is the merit of the university staff and its active students, the rector emphasised in his farewell speech.

The growth in the number of students, improvement of qualitative and quantitative composition of students and faculty, intensification of scientific research, expansion of international relations, successful attraction of financial resources for the development of the university, reconstruction of academic buildings and dormitories, which increased the prestige of the university in the society, are particularly noteworthy.
