        On 7 June , 2017 QS Quacquarelli Symonds Research Center published the 14th edition of the global ranking of QS universities, in which was presented list of top 950 universities of the world. The new ranking confirms that Kazakhstan universities continue to strengthen their positions. The leader among the national higher schools again became al-Farabi Kazakh National University , which currently occupies the 236th place in the ranking.

       In turn, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University showed a positive growth in the QS World University Rankings2018, improving such indicators as the ratio of students and teachers, employer reputation , the proportion of foreign teachers and students and thereby took 491+ in the list of TOP 950 recognized Universities of the world.

 

     The ranking included L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University(336+ place), K.I.Satpayev Kazakh National Research University (411+ place), M.Auezov South Kazakhstan State University (501+ place), E.Buketov Karaganda State University (651+ place), Kazakh-British Technical University (651+ place) and Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages (801+ place).


    The purposefulness of Abai KazNPU in increasing its attractiveness at the international level is based, first of all, on the educational programs quality and the close relationship of the university with the pedagogical, economic, social and cultural demands of the society.

        QS is the annual ranking platform of the best universities in the world. The purpose of the ranking is the recognition of universities by multilateral organizations and ensuring the comparison of their achievements with other universities at the global level, including with world-class universities. The ranking is based on four main criteria: the level of research work, teaching, graduate employment and internationalization. The ranking methodology consists from six metrics: academic reputation (40%), employers reputation (10%), Faculty/Student Ratio (20%), Citations per faculty (20%), international student (5%) and international faculty ( 5%).
