Republic Day: our Blue Flag in Medeo

On October 25 is Republic Day! On October 25, 1990, the Declaration of sovereignty of Kazakhstan was adopted. It was the first step of our country towards independence. The holiday was widely celebrated throughout the Kazakh land, especially on the slopes of Almaty. As part of the action dedicated to the Republic Day, a 40-meter National flag was raised on the square of the Medeu mountain complex and the anthem of our state was performed.

The event was attended by Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev, public figures, deputies of the Maslikhat, representatives of NGOs, the youth of the city, including more than 1,000 students from Abai University.

Aziz Kajdenbek, deputy head of the Almaty Youth Policy Department, made a speech during the action. "More than 2 thousand young people came to raise the flag located at the highest placeof the southern capital. There are activists of the city, deputies. This is one of the most important events to awaken a sense of patriotism among young people", he said.

Festive event was followed by a concert with the participation of Kazakh pop artists. Mukasan Shakhzadayev, Maksat Bazarbayev, Zhemchuzhina Anuarbek, Abay Begey, Askhat Targyn and Indira Elemes performed on the stage.

In addition, the State Fund for the Development of Youth Policy organized a large-scale flash mob of patriotic youth.
