Gala concert dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the first university of Kazakhstan

Today, on November 2, 2023, a gala concert was held in honor of the 95th anniversary of the country`s first university - the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai. The anniversary event brought together prominent representatives of the government, the academic community and the cultural world.

The solemn event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Academy of Sciences, Akimat of Almaty. Among the guests were also foreign diplomats, heads of the country`s leading universities, university graduates, representatives of domestic and foreign partner companies, well-known domestic and foreign scientists and experts, as well as school principals and university staff.

In honor of the anniversary, an exciting creative exhibition was organized, at which the masters of crafts of Abai University and the Union of Ethnodesigners of Kazakhstan presented their works.

At the opening of the event, Chairman of the Board-Rector Bolat Tlep delivered a congratulatory speech, telling about the history of the formation of the country`s first university and its current achievements. The head of the university also thanked the university staff for their fruitful work in the field of education and science, and the students for their success in all endeavors.

Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek in his video message congratulated the university staff and noted the role of the university in the development of the country in the field of pedagogical education and science. Also, the leadership of the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan conveyed their congratulations to the staff of the Pedagogical University and expressed their wishes for further successful development to the first pedagogical university of the country - Abai KazNPU.

Within the framework of the event, a documentary film was shown telling about the amazing history of the university, as well as about the significant contribution of the national intelligentsia to its formation, including such outstanding figures as Akhmet Baitursynuly, Temirbek Zhurgenov, Khalel Dosmukhamedov, Saken Seifullin, and many others. The role of the university in the development of education and science, especially in the training of personnel in these areas, was emphasized, its achievements in world and domestic rankings were noted. The evening ended with a festive concert, at which the masters of arts of the Musrepov Theater, Honored Figures of the Republic of Kazakhstan, pop stars, famous graduates and teachers of the University, talented youth performed.
