"GEKAVOC"  PROJECT

        Today, Abai  Kazakh National Pedagogical University  has an excellent opportunity to implement joint educational and research projects with foreign universities and research centers. Currently, Abai KazNPU  works in partnership with 150 universities around the world, and on August of  this year began work with the Kazakh-German joint project of GeKaVoC (German-Kazakh Vocational Education Centre). The main goal of this project is the opening of the Kazakhstan-German Center for Vocational Education and Training in our country, the review and development of existing curricula and the improvement of curricula, the training of teachers in technical specialties. The project is also designed to help establish links between higher education institutions and enterprises, as well as to train qualified specialists. Under the project, it is expected that personnel will be trained in the field of renewable energy and logistics for enterprises.

         A delegation of 29 people, headed by the Minister of Economy, Science and Digitalization of the Land of Saxony-Anhalt Armin Willingmann on  31 August, 2017  visited Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University  under the GeKaVoC project. Rector of the University Professor Takir  Balykbayev met with the German delegation at the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute. Masterpieces of Kazakh music were performed for the guests in the foyer.

         In his welcoming speech, the rector T. Balykbayev told the guests about the history and achievements of the first Kazakh educational institution -  Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, which  will celebrate the 90th anniversary in the  next year.

       "We have been cooperating with German universities in Freiburg, Leipzig and Magdeburg for a number of years,"  - said T. Balykbayev . - We have the opportunity to improve the quality of education, share experiences and develop European knowledge and innovations through the academic exchange of students, undergraduates, doctoral students and teachers. And now we hope that this new joint project of GekavoC will deepen our partnership and expand our horizons. Together with  Abai  Kazakh National Pedagogical University  will take part in this project such universities as , Shakarim State University of Semey, E. A. Buketov Karaganda State University , Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University. The central office of the project will be located in Abai  Kazakh National Pedagogical University . All higher education institutions participating in the project will maintain communicate through this office. I wish you all the best of luck in the GekavoC project.

         Thanking the rector of Abai KazNPU, Professor Takir Balykbayev for the warm welcome, the Minister of Economy, Science and Digitalization of the Saxony-Anhalt land, Dr. Armin Willingmann noted  the importance of the project.

       - As part of the GeKaVoC project, we are opening a Kazakhstan-German vocational training center, training for companies and raising the qualifications of teachers at seminars in Germany, train instructors in vocational training. We also help update curricula and curricula, "said the head of the German delegation, Armin Willingmann. - The German side is funding this project supported by the German government. And we hope that this project will be supported by the government of Kazakhstan.

         Then, in the Institute "Sorbonne - Kazakhstan" of  Abai  KazNPU took place a solemn ceremony of opening the GeKaVoC project office. The rector of  Abai KazNPU , Prof. Takir Balykbayev and German minister Dr. Armin Willingmann solemnly cut the  red ribbon. The office, equipped with modern information technologies, will undoubtedly become a golden bridge that will further deepen the scientific and educational cooperation  between Germany and Kazakhstan.
