Study of employer feedback

From November 13 to 16, 2023, in order to enhance the quality of the educational program «Primary Education» and improve the preparation of future primary school teachers, a survey was conducted by the practice supervisors of the department «Primary education» of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, senior lecturer Omarova Gulnar and associate professor Lebedeva Larissa. The survey targeted the school administrations where graduates are currently employed.

The following schools participated in the survey: «School-Gymnasium №120», «School-Gymnasium 123», «Gymnasium №35», «Gymnasium №12», «School-Lyceum №28 named after M. Mametova», «Gymnasium №140 named after M. Makataev», School № 82, and the private school «Ganibet» in Almaty city".

In all surveyed schools, there are 2 or more graduates from the department. Employers noted a high level of theoretical knowledge and practical training among young professionals, high work discipline and a commitment to self-education. The quick adaptation to new conditions and the ability to independently fulfill job responsibilities were also highly praised. It was noted that there is a need to enhance the level of additional training for students, particularly in language proficiency, information technology, and economic literacy.

Suggestions for improvement in training included: enhancing the language proficiency of future educators; preparation for working with gifted children and those with special educational needs; studying methods for developing the functional literacy of students.

All suggestions from employers will be taken into account in the future development of educational programs.
