28.02.2024 Abai University students will undergo internships in Astana schools
On February 28, 2024, the Chairman of the Board, Rector of KazUPU named after Abai Bolat Tilep held a meeting with 4th year students who are going to Astana for practical training. The event was attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Banu Narbekova, Director of the Department for Academic Affairs Khairulla Zhanbekov, as well as 181 students from seven institutes of the university.
With the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Department of Education of the city of Astana, in order to provide new schools with teaching staff of a new formation, 4th year students of the Abay University will undergo practical training in educational institutions of the country(s capital on the initiative of Rector Bolat Tilep. This initiative aims to provide secondary schools with qualified and motivated teachers.
During the meeting, the rector emphasized the importance of the proposed initiative in solving the problem of shortage of teaching staff in the country. Focusing on the main task of the leading pedagogical educational institution to create quality education, he paid special attention to the responsibility of students who have chosen the profession of a future teacher. The rector expressed confidence that students will undergo industrial work experience at a high professional level and noted that a qualified specialist will not only serve his country, but will also make a significant contribution to the well-being of society.
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Abay University and the Astana Department of Education in order to solve the important task of eliminating the shortage of teaching staff in the field of education in the capital. As part of the memorandum, 181 students of Abay University will undergo practical training in 32 educational institutions, including 11 lyceums, 13 gymnasiums, 1 secondary school, 3 special educational institutions and 4 kindergartens. The trial period will last from March 4 to May 3, 2024.
Under the guidance of experienced methodologists, students gain valuable experience and improve their professional skills during practical training. This period is the basis for long-term cooperation between the university and secondary educational institutions in Astana, and contributes to the training of highly qualified specialists for the city and its youth.
