Abai University students have started their practice in Astana schools

Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek and Chairman of the Board-Rector of Abai KazNPU Bolat Tlep held a meeting with students of our university who arrived in Astana to undergo practical training in schools of the capital. The event was also attended by Chairman of the Board-Rector of L.Gumilev ENU Yerlan Sydyk, Director of the Department of Academic Affairs of Abai KazNPU Khairulla Zhanbekov and 181 students from seven institutes of the country`s leading pedagogical university.

In order to provide new schools in Astana with teaching staff of a new formation, on the initiative of Bolat Tlep, with the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Department of Education of Astana, 4th-year students of KazNPU named after Abai began to undergo pedagogical practice in educational organizations of the main city of the country. This initiative is aimed at providing secondary education institutions with qualified and motivated teachers.

During the meeting, Sayasat Nurbek stressed the importance of the proposed initiative in solving the problem of shortage of teaching staff in the country. Paying attention to the main task of the leading pedagogical university for the formation of high-quality education, special attention was paid to the responsibility of students who have chosen the profession of a teacher. Bolat Tlep expressed confidence that his students will undergo pedagogical practice at a high professional level, noting that a qualified specialist not only serves his country, but also makes a significant contribution to the development of the whole society.

In order to solve the most important task of eliminating the shortage of teaching staff in the field of education in the capital, a Memorandum of cooperation was signed between Abai University and the Department of Education of Astana. Within the framework of this document, 181 students of Abai University will undergo practical training in 32 educational institutions, including 11 lyceums, 13 gymnasiums, 1 secondary school, 3 special educational institutions and 4 kindergartens. The internship period will last from March 4 to May 3, 2024.

In the near future, Abai KazNPU and L.Gumilev ENU will jointly develop new projects to train high-quality teaching staff for the whole country.
