A mentor for children

On March 11, 2024, according to the socio-pedagogical directions of the Meirim volunteer club in the Regional Center for the support of children in difficult situations, volunteer students of the specialty "6B01201-Preschool education and upbringing" Kozhabayeva Nurshat, Atibek Nurai, Bekeshova Kanshaiym, Amantai Ayaulym, Utegenova Anel, Abilgazinova Aisulu under the guidance of associate Professor Shirinbaeva The Gulbakhirs held games and classes on the volunteer tutoring program "Mentor for children".

The main form of social and pedagogical work of the volunteers were individual and group, according to the methodology of didactic game classes, which had an educational (cognitive) and gaming (entertainment) orientation. During the lessons, a set of visual materials made by volunteers was used to develop children`s sensory perception and enrich their vocabulary. Each exercise game used had its own training task with elements of sensory integration, which differed from each other in a pronounced cognitive nature. By incorporating sensory integration elements into the game, the volunteers created an optimal developmental environment, which further improved the child`s speech quality, play activity and learning abilities.

At the end of the event, the volunteers summed up the positive results of the lessons they had acquired through conducting classes combining a set of sensory exercise methods aimed at enriching the sensory experience of orphaned preschoolers.
