Round table "Model UN: the role of youth in the implementation of the anti-corruption policy of the state"


On April 19, 2024, the Sorbonne Institute-Kazakhstan KazNPU named after Abai united the youth of Almaty at the round table "Model UN: the role of youth in the implementation of the anti-corruption policy of the state". The organizers are the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Mayor`s Office of the city, the UN office in Kazakhstan and KazNPU named after Abai.


Since the beginning of 2023, within the framework of the Anti-Corruption Volunteering project implemented by the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, concerned citizens, public associations, enterprises and organizations have been actively involved in anti-corruption activities as volunteers. One of the participants of this project is the movement "Accelerator of Goodness: Izgilik Elshisi" of Abai KazNPU.
It is undeniable that educating young people in the spirit of honesty, integrity and justice, as well as consolidating these values in their minds, play a key role in the implementation of the concept of the Head of State "Adal Azamat". Volunteers of a well-known movement in the country are actively involved in the implementation of this important initiative.


The coordinator of the event is the Director of the Sorbonne Institute-Kazakhstan, a member of the National Kurultai under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Public Council of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Deputy Chairman of the Human Rights Commission under the President of the country Ainur Sabitova, who also moderated the round table together with a representative of the UN Department of Global Communications, Head of the UN Information Office in Kazakhstan Vlastimil Samek.


The event was opened by Ulan Sarkulov, First Deputy Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Also, the vice-rector for Academic Affairs of Abai KazNPU Banu Narbekov made a welcoming speech to the youth.


The youth game, bringing the spirit of the UN mini-model, continued with brilliant performances by active youth of Almaty. The world experience of 30 different countries was presented, demonstrating the comprehensive involvement of young people in the fight against corruption and the formation of principles of integrity, honesty and zero tolerance for corruption.


This event has become not only a platform for sharing experiences, but also an important step towards creating an honest and responsible society in which young people play a key role. We thank all the participants for their contribution to this important dialogue!
