Republican Olympiad "Abai`s legacy in pedagogy of the XXI century"

On April 19, 2024, the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy organized the republican Olympiad "Abai`s Legacy in Pedagogy of the XXI century". The founder of the Olympiad is the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

The main purpose of the Olympiad is an in-depth study of Abai`s work, identification of talented students with theoretical and practical knowledge about Abai`s pedagogical heritage, increasing students` interest in research work in the field of spiritual and moral education.

10 university teams from all regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the Olympiad.

Maksat Zhakauov, Vice-rector for Social Development of Abai KazNPU, and Khairulla Zhanbekov, Director of the Department of Academic Affairs, spoke at the opening ceremony of the Olympiad. They noted that Abai`s legacy is an example for the younger generation, and the Olympiad in honor of the great Abai is held within the republic and this is a great achievement for our university.

Director of the Department of Academic Affairs Khairulla Zhanbekov, lighting the torch of the Olympiad, wished the participants of the Olympiad success and good luck.

Chairman of the jury -Abayev, member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, senior lecturer of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Teaching Methods named after Academician S.Kirabaev of Abai KazNPU Dauren Mukhamadiev, members of the jury - leading employee of the Institute of Literature and Art named after M.O.Auezov Nurbol Kudaibergenov, Head of the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy Ulbossyn Kyyakbayeva and Professor Department of Primary Education Gulnar Uaysova.

The Olympiad was held in three stages:

1) development of the scientific project "Abai and Kazakhstan in the XXI century" (homework);

2) the presentation of "Abai in my life" in connection with life situations;

3) showing an excerpt from the lesson "Using the pedagogical heritage of Abai".

The nominations "Best Essay", "Best Lesson", "Best scientific project" were awarded.

The participants who took the I, II, and III places were awarded diplomas, certificates, and medals of the Olympiad.

Grand Prix: team "Kara Shanyrak" of the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (out of competition);

I place: East Kazakhstan University named after Sarsen Amanzholova team "Abai muragerleri";

The second place was taken by the team "Assyl Mura" of the L. N.Gumilev Eurasian National University, the team "Abai bol" of the Shakarim Semey University, the team "Ushkyr oi" of the Uzbekali Zhanibekov South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University, the team "Okzhetpes" of the Kokshetau University named after Sh. Ualikhanov.

III place: M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University "Nurly akyl" team, Sh. Yesenov Caspian University of Technology and Engineering "Kaspiy marzhandary" team, Alkey Margulan Pavlodar Pedagogical University "Margulan Zhastary", Kazakh National Women`s Pedagogical University "ZIATty arular".

Ulbossyn Kyyakbayeva spoke at the closing of the Olympiad, thanking all the participants, she handed them diplomas and certificates. Dauren Mukhamediev handed over the baton to the team of Amanzholov University, which took the first place. Next year, the Olympiad will be held at this university.

The Olympiad ended with the performance of Abai Kunanbayev`s song "Kozimnin karasy".
