Abai University teachers in the USA

Teachers of Abai University of the Department of Russian Language and Literature PhD, Senior Lecturer Yerzhanova F.M., PhD, Associate Professor Serikova S.K., PhD, Senior Lecturer Zhandykeeva G.E., Master, Lecturer Umarova A.B. undergo scientific training at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (Illinois, USA) under the programme "500 scientists" of the Presidential Scholarship "Bolashak". During four months the scholarship holders took intensive English academic language courses, participated in the English Speaking Club, learnt about historical objects of the state and made a trip to the state capital Springfield, where the 16th President of the USA Abraham Lincoln was born and grew up.

On 23 August 2024, the researchers met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the USA Yerzhan Ashikbayev and with the representative of "Bolashak" in the USA Ruslan Sakeev. The researchers are now mastering an intensive programme on Advanced and Professional Academic English courses and courses in Academic Writing, Transformations in Higher Education and Pedagogical Innovations. Completing a research internship will help researchers enhance their qualifications, and connections with colleagues from other universities and research centres, improve pedagogical research and teaching skills and establish international research contacts.
