Marc Uzan Visits Abai University: Collaboration in Global Economy and Knowledge Exchange

 

On September 20, 2024, Abai KazNPU welcomed Marc Uzan, the Director General and Founder of the Bretton Woods Renewal Committee. His visit highlighted the importance of collaboration in the field of international economics.


Marc Uzan annually advises leading financial institutions, G20 nations, governments, and central banks on economic, financial, and monetary policy, as well as structural reforms. He is the author of scientific works focused on the new architecture of the international financial system and global development, holding a master`s degree in international economics and finance from Paris-Dauphine University. Additionally, he has served on the World Economic Forum`s program board and taught at the Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley.


Marc Uzan is also the editor of numerous books, with his latest work titled "70 Years of Bretton Woods," published in English and Chinese (a Russian version is currently in preparation). This book features insights from leading global experts on issues of global development and sustainable growth.


During the meeting, Marc Uzan singled out Abai University among other institutions, noting its status as one of the leaders in education in Kazakhstan. He announced plans to donate over 2,000 copies of books on economics, finance, literature, and philosophy to the university. He also expressed interest in inviting international speakers to Abai University for knowledge exchange, aiming to make the university a center of interaction in the fields of economics, finance, and other areas. Uzan emphasized that he does not wish to limit collaboration to book donations alone, but rather seeks to broaden its scope across Central Asia.
