Abai University Strengthens Ties with Malaysian Educational Institutions

 

On September 20, 2024, Abai KazNPU hosted a delegation from Malaysian educational institutions as part of their visit to Almaty.
In the first half of the day, a meeting took place with representatives from City University of Malaysia. The primary goal of the meeting was to familiarize with the university`s activities and explore potential areas for mutually beneficial collaboration.


Representatives of City University of Malaysia presented on the university`s history, fields of scientific activity, and educational programs, as well as shared information about future plans. During the discussion, the possibility of creating student and faculty exchange programs as part of academic mobility was highlighted, along with the organization of research internships for doctoral and master`s students from various faculties of Abai University. Additionally, the representatives expressed a desire to jointly participate in conferences, publications, and projects in the field of pedagogical methodology and other areas. At the end of the meeting, the possibility of signing a memorandum between the universities was considered.


In the afternoon, the university leadership welcomed a second delegation, which included representatives from Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), as well as from University Malaya (UM) and University Putra Malaysia (UPM). The purpose of this visit was to establish close cooperation with Abai University. The Malaysian delegation expressed high interest in joint research and projects, as well as in organizing academic mobility programs for students and research internships for doctoral and master`s students.


During the meeting, cooperation in areas such as education, chemistry, biology, engineering, and information technology was discussed. The possibility of publishing research works by scholars and researchers from Abai University in the scientific journals of UM and UPM was also considered. Representatives from the Malaysian universities noted that, given the diversity of scientific and educational programs, they could provide opportunities for Abai University students across various specializations. At the end of the meeting, both parties expressed their intention to continue collaboration in educational and scientific fields.
