Open lecture by Professor Hiroki Fujii on Chemistry Education for Sustainable Development

On September 25, 2024, at the Department of Chemistry of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay, Professor Hiroki Fujii from Okayama University (Japan), Director of the Center for the Promotion of ESD and Head of the UNESCO Chair in Research and Education for Sustainable Development, held an open lecture on "Theories and Practices of Chemical Education for Sustainability: Focused on  Senior High School Classes".

The open lecture was devoted to how modern theories and practices of chemical education can contribute to sustainable development, as well as methods by which they can be effectively introduced into the educational programs. Practical examples of integrating environmental issues and sustainable development into the curriculum were also discussed.

The lecture was aimed at helping students and teachers better understand how science can contribute to solving global environmental problems and provided practical advice on creating an interactive educational process that promotes sustainable thinking.
