16.10.2024 Meeting with scientists of the CERCEC Research Center On October 11, 2024, a meeting was held at the Faculty of History and Law with a delegation of French scholars from the Center for the Study of Russia, the Caucasus, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia (CERCEC).
The delegation included prominent scholars such as Isabelle Ohayon, Deputy Director of CERCEC, historian and researcher at CNRS; Catherine Gousseff, historian and research director at CNRS; Valérie Mélikian, Editor-in-Chief of the journal "Cahiers d`histoire russe, est-européenne, caucasienne et centrasiatique"; and others.
During the meeting, French and domestic research on the history and religion of Kazakhstan was discussed, along with questions of international cooperation.
CERCEC is a research center jointly operated by the National Center for Scientific Research in France (CNRS) and the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS). The specialization of the CERCEC team spans from the 17th century to the present day, covering a region that extends from the former Soviet bloc in Eastern Europe to the Caucasus and Central Asia.
