Results of the XVI Republican Subject Olympiad

On October 17-18, 2024, in the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai was held XVI-th Republican Subject Olympiad on the educational program: «B014 - Teacher Training in Geography» and «B052 - Earth Science», organized by the Faculty of Science and Geography.

The main goal of the Olympiad was to reveal the knowledge and support the creative potential of gifted students within the educational programs «B014 - Teacher Training in Geography» and «B052 - Earth Science». The Olympiad was also aimed at increasing the interest of young people in research activities and motivation to participate in solving modern scientific problems.

31 teams from higher educational institutions of the republic took part in the Olympiad. At the opening ceremony with a welcoming speech was made by the vice-rector for research and innovation of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai E. Sultan, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor K.D. Kaimuldinova, Head of the Department of "Geography and Ecology", PhD D.T. Aliaskarov.

Winners by individual results:

I place: Ongarbek Ayaulym (Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt Ata);

II place: Usen Mukhammadali Ravshanovich (International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasavi), Mukhtarova Aizhan Kanatovna (Kazakh National Women`s Pedagogical University);

III place: Utemis Nurlan Utemisovich (West Kazakhstan University named after Makhambet Utemisov),Binazar Talap Muratovich (Taraz Regional University named after M. H. Dulati), Toktash Toktultan Maratovich (Karaganda University named after Academician Ebiney Arystanovich Buketov).

Winners among higher educational institutions:

I place: Kokshetau University named after Shokan Ualikhanov;

II place: Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Shakhmardan Yesenov, Pavlodar Pedagogical University named after Alkey Margulan;

III place: North Kazakhstan University named after Manash Kozybaev, Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay and ALIKHAN BOKEIKHAN UNIVERSITY.

II place: «Everest» team of L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University (Aknur Maratkyzy Murat, Ayaulym Kanatbekkyzy Kuttymuratova, Sakyp Gazizovna Isenova) and «Geo Global» team of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Ibrashimov Ibragim Ibrashimovich, Amina Orynbekkyzy Nigmetova, Meyrbek Zharkynuly Makhsotov);

III place: Team «Geoniy» of Karaganda University named after academician E.A. Boketov (Aiganym Ashirbekova, Dosan Illyas Zhandosuly, Amankeldikyzy Asyltas), team "Kyzylzhar" of North-Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozybaev (Ilyushin Kozybaev, Dosan Ilias Zhandosuly, Amankeldikyzy Asyltas). Kozybaev (Ilyushina Anastasia Alexandrovna, Aigerim Erlanovna Akhmetova, Amangeldi Syunkar Bagdatuly) and the team «Ertis» of the University named after Toraigyrov (Kinzhikov Daniyar Tulegenovich, Әbylash Ayimgul Meyrambekkyzyzy, Rakhmanberdiyeva Bakhytgul Shadiyarovna).

The Olympiad has become an important event contributing to the development of geographical science and education. Such events allow students to actively engage in research work and expand their knowledge. The Olympiad was organized in order to form the creative potential of students, to develop skills in solving scientific problems, as well as to strengthen ties between educational institutions and served as an effective platform to promote achievements in education and science.
