A Korean language competition was held

On 8 November 2024, Abai University held an oratory competition among Korean language students. The participants were 2nd-4th year students of the speciality `Teacher of Oriental Language with English` and `Two Foreign Languages` of the Faculty of Philology.

The students` performances were evaluated by independent external juries: Deputy Director of the Korean Education Centre at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan - Park De Seong, Professor of Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages - Chang Hojon; Chief Editor of the Korean-language newspaper "Hanin Ilbo" and Director of the cultural centre "Goryeo" - Kim Sang Wook. The students` performances were judged by an independent external jury: Park De Seong, Deputy Director of the Korean Education Centre at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan; Chang Hojong, Professor of the Ablai Khan KazUMOIMYA; Kim Sang Wook, Editor-in-Chief of the Korean-language newspaper Hanin Ilbo and Director of the Goryeo Cultural Centre.

The winners were awarded certificates and cash prizes. All participants received certificates of participation and souvenirs.

The event was prepared by Korean language teachers of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation - Nam Natalia, Pak Subin, Burmistrova Elena and Kultasov Maksat. Organisational support was provided by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology - Tanzharykova Alua. Sponsorship support was provided by the Korean Education Centre.
