Scientific Seminar "Opportunities and Challenges of Large Language Models in Education (The Case of ChatGPT)"


On November 8, 2024, postdoctoral researchers Raissa Izmagambetova and Nazgul Kozhamkulova conducted a scientific seminar titled "Opportunities and Challenges of Large Language Models in Education (The Case of ChatGPT)." The event actively involved faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral students, master`s students, and undergraduates who discussed the potential of the ChatGPT chatbot, developed based on new digital technologies and generative artificial intelligence in the field of education, and shared their opinions.

 

During the seminar, the opportunities, effectiveness, challenges, and ethical aspects of utilizing large language models in education, particularly the ChatGPT chatbot, were thoroughly examined. Postdoctoral researchers Raissa Izmagambetova and Nazgul Kozhamkulova provided detailed information to the audience regarding the role of language models in the learning process, their impact on student motivation, opportunities for developing personal skills, as well as addressing ethical issues such as plagiarism and information accuracy.
