An educational excursion to the Boraldai Saki burial mounds began

 

On November 20, 2021, from 10.00 to 13.00, excursions to the archaeological complex of the Boraldai Saki burial mounds on the theme «The World of Civilizations» will begin for students of KazNPU. The event is being held by the Rukhani Zhagyru Center.

 

Visits to the archaeological park in the open air are organized by the project «Sacred Geography of Kazakhstan» in the framework of the implementation of the state program of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan NANazarbayev «Course towards the future: modernization of Kazakhstan`s identity».

 

The purpose of the expedition is to strengthen the spiritual knowledge and enlightenment of the younger generation in the holy places, adapt it to specialization skills and popularize the deeply rooted history of the region.

 

Boraldai Saki burial mounds is one of 6 monuments included in the list of national sacred objects in the city of Almaty. It is located in the Alatau district of the city, between the Ulken Almaty and Boraldai rivers. Also, the archaeological complex, consisting of 47 kurgans, including those reflecting the history of the Uysun tribe, is the only monument on the territory of Almaty that has survived from the early Iron Age. Thus, the students of the institute had the opportunity to learn about the history of a unique object that tells the story of our ancestors who inhabited the endless steppe.

 

University students are transported to the archaeological site by a special bus. Limited number of seats! Travel and admission is free!

 

The event is held taking into account all quarantine requirements.
