ACADEMICIAN’S 80TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED

At Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, a solemn event was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, and Academician Anatoly Kupchishin. His name is well known in the academic community for his research in nuclear physics, particle physics, and radiation physics.

During the ceremonial meeting of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics, students learned about the professor’s contribution to national science and his exemplary life path. The university’s Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Ertai Sultanuly, emphasized the scientist’s immense contribution and delivered a congratulatory message from the university’s Rector, Bolat Anapiyauly.

“I congratulate the distinguished scientist, educator, and mentor of several generations of researchers, Academician Anatoly Ivanovich Kupchishin, on his anniversary. He is a shining example of academic tradition and scientific school formation, an honored professor and a source of pride for our university,” — stated Bolat Anapiyauly in his congratulatory letter.

One of A.I. Kupchishin’s main scientific areas is the study of nuclear reactions and particle interactions. He conducted theoretical and experimental analyses of high-energy particle interactions with matter and proposed new methodological approaches. His works are aimed at deepening the understanding of atomic nuclei structure and expanding the possibilities of peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The scientist is the author of more than 300 scientific papers, 3 monographs, and 9 textbooks, as well as the holder of 10 authorship certificates and 20 patented technologies. Dedicated to teaching, he has trained 4 doctors and 12 candidates of science. Thousands of his students now work in the fields of science and education both in Kazakhstan and abroad.

At the faculty’s ceremonial meeting, not only the scientist’s scientific legacy but also his creativity was highlighted. His students and colleagues proudly noted that he is also a bard and poet. A.I. Kupchishin is a member of the Writers’ Unions of the CIS, Russia, and Kazakhstan, the author of several poetry collections, and a laureate of the Yesenin Gold Medal. During the event dedicated to his 80th anniversary, his works were performed, and various awards were presented.
