OUR SCHOLARS PRESENTED A REPORT IN SHANGHAI

A delegation from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University is participating in the “One Belt – One Road Shanghai Exchange Project” international exchange program, held in Shanghai, China, from 27 November to 9 December 2025.

The international program “Belt and Road 2025 Exchange Project: STEM, Artificial Intelligence, and Social-Emotional Development”, organized by UNESCO-TEC, aims to study global practices in teacher training and professional development; expand cooperation between universities and research centers; and promote the pedagogical education systems of various countries at the international level.

Today, Abai University scholars Zhanna Zhusipova and Zaure Smailova delivered presentations on the development trends of Kazakhstan’s pedagogical education system and the features of the research-based learning model.

They provided a comprehensive overview of Abai University’s strategic development indicators in the context of expanding international partnerships, introduced scientific and innovative practices, and highlighted opportunities for international cooperation.

Proposals were voiced regarding the expansion of experience exchange between students and young researchers within the framework of academic mobility, joint implementation of professional development programs, development of special modules on AI application, and other initiatives.

The Chinese side raised the issue of establishing a Central Asian consortium and invited partners to create a joint platform in the fields of pedagogical education, STEM, AI, and continuous professional development of teachers.

The idea of creating a joint AI training center in the Central Asian region is expected to serve as a platform that enables teachers to use shared resources and contributes to forming a university–school–industry triadic ecosystem. Participants were also introduced to practical aspects of integrating information technologies into the educational process in Chinese schools, which have made significant advancements in AI implementation.

As part of the program, Abai University’s delegation held meetings with leading universities and research centers in China, discussing new partnership opportunities in joint projects, student and academic exchange programs, dual-degree initiatives, and internships.

Participants from 14 countries expressed strong interest in the development of Kazakhstan’s pedagogical education, the university’s scientific potential, and its integration into the global educational space.

It is worth noting that new steps were taken during the visit to strengthen long-term cooperation between the university and Chinese higher education institutions.
